Sean Hennessey is the Chief Communications Officer for Mass General Brigham University. In this role, he oversees the strategy, planning and tactical execution of the University's internal and external media initiatives. This includes the Office of Strategic Communications telling the University's story, be it with faculty expertise, compelling stories, innovative research or new initiatives. For the five years prior to the University, Hennessey was a senior leader in the agency world, leading client teams across higher education, financial, professional services, non-profit, healthcare and management industries. Hennessey began his public relations career at Boston College, where he worked for four years in Office of University Communications. Hennessey was a television news reporter for more than 20 years, with the bulk of his career in the major media markets of Boston and New York City. This previous career in the television news industry has provided a valuable lens into media needs, thought processes and protocols.
