Elin Roverud, AuD, PhD, CCC-A, is an Assistant Professor in the Audiology Department.  She joined MGBU as faculty in 2026 after 3 years of teaching as Term Lecturer in the doctor of audiology program.

She received her AuD in 2011 and her PhD in hearing science in 2014, both from Purdue University. From 2014 to 2026, she conducted research in the area of psychoacoustics at Boston University, first as a postdoctoral researcher and then as a research assistant professor.  Her research work examines the impact of hearing loss on perception and speech understanding in noisy or multi-talker listening environments. More recently, she and her colleagues have investigated the potential for a non-invasive form of brain stimulation (called transcranial electric stimulation) to enhance learning in speech-on-speech understanding tasks in people struggling in multi-talker environments.
