This 10-CE course will provide you with practical, evidence-informed content to strengthen your confidence and competence in complex care, from family collaboration and safety planning to specialized body-system care. Interactive check-offs in each module and weekly faculty office hours support your learning.

This program provides foundational and advanced content to support the delivery of safe, effective complex care in home, school, and community settings. Topics include family collaboration, developmental disabilities, safety and emergency planning, wound and nutritional care, digestive and bladder management, endocrine and reproductive health, mobility and communication needs, cardiopulmonary conditions, and pain management.

This is an asynchronous online course, self-paced, with optional live weekly office hours with the instructor via zoom.

This course is intended for nurses (LPNs, RNs, and NPs) who currently care for, or are interested in caring for, individuals with medical complexity. While the content applies across care settings, it focuses on home- and community-based care.

There are ten modules:

  • Skin, Wounds, and Healing
  • Feeding and Nutrition Support
  • Digestive and Bladder Care
  • Endocrine and Reproductive Health

  • Pain
     

The course cost is $100. Through April 2027, several discounts are available. School nurses may register for $70. Nurses working for CSN Agencies may register for $70. Nurses working as independent contractors for MassHealth may register for free.
